Shirley Ann Wilson, age 71, of New Philadelphia, died peacefully, early Friday, March 26, 2021, while in the care of Community Hospice’s Truman House at New Philadelphia following a brief battle with cancer.

Born on May 13, 1949, Shirley was a daughter of the late George (Doris) Kaiser, Jr. and Ethel (Arlie) Zinn.

Prior to her retirement, Shirley worked for 34 years as an LPN. She enjoyed spending each morning on her front porch making sure the neighborhood cats and squirrels were well fed. She also spent every Saturday during racing season cheering on her son, Kevin, at Midvale Speedway. Shirley loved being able to babysit her great-grandchildren and spend time at the casinos.

She is survived by two children, Sherry (Richard) Schweitzer of New Philadelphia and Kevin (Angela) McClintock of Dover; a granddaughter, Dr. Alicia (Craig) Manly, M.D. of Massillon, her great-grandchildren, Adalynn and Logan Manly. Completing the family are her siblings, Wanda Burkhart, Linda (Mac Gribble) Schiele, Debb (Cheryl Stankiewiz) Zinn, and Shelly (Dan) Croston as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Kaiser and her long-time companion, David Klar.

In keeping with Shirley’s wishes there will be no public visitation or services. Cremation will take place through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.

I thank God for the privilege of having time with Sherb when she was in the hospital and at home. She asked for me to pray with her of several occasions. Eventhough my heart aches, I know she is my angel now. Rest up my big sister your gona be busy. John 11:25-26 NKJV Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

So very sorry for the families loss of Shirley, and finding out about Jerry as well. The last time I saw her was probably the summer of 2019. She looked so happy and healthy then, that's how I want to remember her. Love and sympathy to all of you!
