Ronald A. Manghese, 65, of New Philadelphia, passed away suddenly Sunday, January 10, 2021 at his residence.

Born in Fort Worth, Texas, he was the son of the late Anthony “Tony” and Catherine (Meechan) Manghese and a 1973 graduate of New Philadelphia High School. In 1976 he started working for Greer Steel at Dover and had recently retired after 44 years of service.

Ronald loved fishing, especially at Clendening Lake and taking care of his yard and was fond of growing roses. His favorite time of the year was “March Madness” and he was also a huge Cleveland Indians fan. Most of all, Ronald was extremely proud of his grandchildren.

On July 1, 1978, he married the love of his life, Thelma A. (Harrington) Manghese and together shared over 42 years of marriage and many adventures together. Also surviving are his twin daughters, Charlotte (George) Woods of Canton and Shelley Solis of Warsaw, Indiana; a son, Matthew (Crystal) Manghese of Staley, North Carolina; five grandchildren, Anthony (Lizzie), Aleesha, Nelson, Katrina and Thomas; a great granddaughter, Camille and three sisters, Diana (Randy) Felgenhauer, Karen Nagle and Terri (Dave) Wolfarth.

In keeping with Ronald’s wishes, he is to be cremated through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia and no public visitation or services are to be scheduled.

Those wishing to do so may send the family a personal condolence and light a candle in remembrance of Ronald by visiting the funeral home’s website at www.GeibCares.com.
