Obituary

Robert “Butch” Shear, Jr., age 70, of New Philadelphia, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, in his residence.

Born in Dover, Ohio on March 12, 1952, Butch was a son of the late Robert Shear, Sr. and Lola Mary (Barnett) Shear.

Robert “Butch” Shear, Jr., age 70, of New Philadelphia, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, in his residence.

Born in Dover, Ohio on March 12, 1952, Butch was a son of the late Robert Shear, Sr. and Lola Mary (Barnett) Shear.

Butch worked for Schwartz Distributing as an HVAC Technician for over 30 years.  Butch was an avid supporter of Indian Valley sports and enjoyed time in the stands cheering on his grandchildren.  He proudly served in the US Army Reserves and loved to spend time with friends at Tusky VFW.

Surviving are his children, Amber (Scott Marshall) Shear, Bobi (Eric) Kinsey and Bosco (Christine) Shear; grandchildren, Owen and Connor Marshall, Maxwell, Grady, Jack and Cy Kinsey, Trenton Stratton, Peyton and Rylin Shear; and sister, Brenda Musick.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents.

No public services are planned at this time. The Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia is handling cremation care.

The family requests memorial contributions in Butch’s name be directed to the Tusky VFW 7943, 421 N. Main St. Uhrichsville, OH 44683.
