Melissa May Yoder, age 46, of Sugarcreek, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, while in the care of Community Hospice at Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital at Dover. Melissa has courageously fought a five-year battle with cancer.

Born in Union Hospital at Dover, Ohio on February 17, 1974, Melissa was a daughter of Melvin and Pamela Meek Reardon of New Philadelphia.

She attended Dover High School and was a passionate servant of the Lord at the Potter’s House Church in New Philadelphia where she was active in the youth ministries and taught Sunday School. She loved helping her husband on their family farm and taking care of her cats. She also enjoyed keeping in touch with her family.

In addition to her parents, Melissa is survived by her husband, Jacob Yoder whom she married on October 26, 2014; a brother, Melvin Reardon, Jr; a special aunt, Melalou, and numerous other extended family members.

A celebration of Melissa’s life will be led by Pastor Thomas Cunningham on Saturday, February 6, 2021, at 11 AM in the Potter’s House Church at New Philadelphia. The family will greet guests one hour prior to the service where all in attendance are welcome to remember Melissa by wearing her favorite color, purple.

Contributions to the family to assist in defraying expenses may be directed to the Potter’s House Church, 335 Union Ave NW, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.

Missy your wings are golden with lots of shimmer in them. I will miss the times that you would just randomly call me just because you was bored and just wanted to talk but would always ask how everyone was doing and would always say I love you. You had such a sweet nature to you and loved people. You will be missed Missy the Lord has received such a precious angel. Melvin & Pam your family is in our hearts and prayers.
