Mary Jane Williams, 79, of Stow, passed away peacefully in the Community Hospice Truman House on Wednesday evening, September 9, 2020, following a brief period of declining health.

Born in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania on October 16, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Charles Elwood and Gladys Janet (Pinkerton) Hintze.

After completing her formal education at East Stroudsburg High School and Findlay College, she married her late husband, Darrell Williams. Together, they were blessed with the birth of their two children, Craig and Lori.

Mary Jane devoted her life to caring for others. She spent several years as a childcare provider. Most importantly, she treasured time spent with her family and friends, especially vacationing at the beach. She never forgot a birthday or anniversary, always taking special care to select the perfect card.

Mary Jane was a member at the United Methodist Church of Stow, where she loved singing in the choir.

She will be deeply missed by her family including her children, Craig (Laura) Williams of Dover and Lori (Robert) Ullrich of Pewaukee, Wisconsin; her grandchildren, Jacob, Sidney, and William Ullrich, Cassandra (Robert) Bast, Scott (Madison) Williams, and David Williams; and her great-granddaughters, Beatrice and Maxine Bast; and her sister, Elizabeth (William) Reaser; in addition to numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary Jane was preceded in passing by her brother, Richard Hintze.

Visitation will be held in the Geib Funeral Center, 5600 N. Wooster Ave., Dover, OH 44622 on Saturday, September 12, 2020 from 3 to 5 p.m. A service celebrating Mary Jane’s life will immediately follow beginning at 5 p.m. with Rev. Karen Drotar officiating. Inurnment will take place in Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent, Ohio, at a later date.

Due to Covid 19, safety precautions will be taken. The 6-foot rule will be honored and all guests are to wear a mask. To the family of Mary Jane, My deepest sympathies. Mary Jane lives a few houses from mine and we were one of the "buckworth babes" as we called ourselves. Mary Jane was such a kind, fun, lovely woman. She will be so missed.

I am so sorry for the sudden lose of your mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. Mary Jane was an integral part of my family as we shared 3 wonderful grandchildren and many happy events. She will be missed on vacations, graduations and puzzle making. Family events like vacationing in the Florida Keys and the hills of Tennessee with her will always be remembered.

Mary Jane was a delight to know. We had such good times at the pool at Roosevelt High School and our pot luck luncheons. She had a great sense of humor, a caring person and a great smile. She will be missed.

I remember when we went to golf shore Alabama with Mary Jane and the kids thought they would braid her hair and she had these small braids sticking up all over her head. It really gave me a laugh when I though about it but really she was such a good sport by letting them do it.

Words cannot fully describe what an impact Mary Jane had in my life. Every time I saw her in the past 18 years I was greeted with a smile. Being able to attend the same church for the past 5 years has been a blessing. I will greatly miss our heart to heart conversations, her smile, listening to her in the choir, looking up and seeing her laughing at our baby bouncing around the pew from the choir, and most of all her hugs. One of the last times I saw her, when we were able to worship in person, my oldest son who has multiple disabilities took her hand and they went for a walk around the church, that imagine will forever be in my mind. Mary Jane will be very missed. Our sympathies to the entire family. Mary Jane will always have a piece of my heart.
