June A. Morton, 80, of Minerva, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2022 in Altercare Country Lawn Nursing Facility at Navarre, after a period of declining health.

Born January 31, 1942 in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Esther (Book) Allen.

June had retired from the Charlie Courier Company at North Canton after 20 years of service and had also attended the 38th Street Church of Christ at Canton. Known for her love of cats, June opened her home to several rescued cats as well as caring for numerous feral cats near her home. It is for this reason that she became known to her family and friends as “The Crazy Cat Lady.”

Worth, Texas; a sister, Bonnie Lease of Surprise, Arizona; a brother, David Allen of Columbus; several nieces and nephews that include Rusty, Carla, Chrissy and Becky and numerous great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to her parents, June is preceded in death by her husband, Master Sergeant, Hobart A. Morton, USAF (Ret.); her son, Kenneth Morton; two sisters, Geraldine Watkins, and Yvonne Allen and two brothers, Gene Allen, and Kenneth Allen.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation care will be provided by the Geib Funeral Center at Dover and inurnment will take place along with her husband in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at Rittman, Ohio.
