Also surviving are two daughters, Jennifer (Delbert) Woods of Tuscarawas and Bethany (Michael) Sheets of New Philadelphia; two sons, Jason (Beth) Stevens of Millersburg and SSgt. Bret Penick who is stationed with the United States Army in Lawton, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Gage, Lucas and Kryscena Woods, Kiana and Allegra Stevens and Renly Sheets; a sister, Pam Chaney and a brother, Joe (Marla) Stevens.

In addition to his parents, a brother, Roger Espenschied; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Pamela Perdue and Rhonda and John Stevens and an infant brother, Roy Stevens, also precede him in death.
